Our History.
Plutonium Interactive started with one person having an idea and the will to bring it to life; later on two other individuals, sharing the same passion, decided to join him. It all started with the founder, NotMalo — self-taught in both Unity and Unreal — who had been thinking about making horror games for a while. In 2022 that thought became a conversation, and that conversation became a studio.
From the very first day the focus was clear: psychological horror. Not because it was trending, but because it is what all three of us genuinely love — as players, as fans of the genre, as people who grew up watching horror films and gameplay on YouTube.
The early days had their rough patches — that is just how it goes when you are building something from nothing. But we pushed through, and the vision never really changed.
Our inspiration comes from everywhere. Horror games, films, internet culture, creepypasta, real places, architecture and from people — anything that carries that feeling of something being slightly off or unsettling. The Backrooms aesthetic, liminal spaces, SCP, analog horror. We take all of that to come up with new original ideas for our games.
What we care about most in every game are the same four things: atmosphere, emotional impact, storytelling, and mechanics that serve all three. None of them are optional. A great atmosphere with nothing underneath it is not enough. A good story with no tension does not work for what we want to create. We try to get all of it right.
We are three people right now and it is enough, but we could also grow. If the games find their audience — horror fans, indie fans, people deep in internet horror culture — the studio could expand. We are not chasing size, but with more professional people working with us we could work more efficiently.
Building a community is a priority for us. We do not have one yet, but that is what we are working toward: a community that trusts us, enjoys our games and recognises the quality of our work.
The studio is born
Malo's vision of making horror games came to life. Plutonium Interactive is founded.
The studio gets bigger
Two other people join the studio, sharing the same passion for horror and indie games. The team is now three people.
ENDLESSDREAM enters development
The studio begins work on its most ambitious project yet. ENDLESSDREAM is a psychological horror game built around liminal spaces, atmospheric dread, and a world that never quite feels safe.
THE LAST FUSE enters development
NotMalo begins solo development on The Last Fuse, a survival horror game set inside an abandoned maintenance facility. The first project to go into active production.
LOST:FOUND FOOTAGE enters development
NotMalo starts a second solo project. Lost: Found Footage is a first-person psychological horror game inspired by the Backrooms — raw, atmospheric, and deeply unsettling.
LAST SHIFT enters development
NotMalo starts a third solo project. Last Shift is a short VHS-style horror game set during a lonely night shift in a small, decaying office.
